Optelian to Demonstrate New High Capacity Optical Networking Systems at TIA 2011: Inside the Network

OTTAWA and MARIETTA, GA--(Marketwire - May 17, 2011) - Optelian, a trusted designer and manufacturer of optical transport systems, today announced that the Company's comprehensive new product lineup will be featured at TIA 2011: Inside the Network, May 18-20 in Dallas in booth #811.

Optelian's LightGAIN optical transport system has been enhanced to provide 80-channels of long-haul DWDM with multi-degree ROADM capability, automatic power balancing, higher powered optical amplifiers, and fully tunable transponders from 10 Mb/s to 10 Gb/s. In addition, Optelian will be featuring managed CWDM with up to and including 10 Gb/s capability for mobile backhaul solutions. Network operators can now take advantage of LightGAIN's affordability and easy scalability to address their needs for higher bandwidth, remote configuration, and service level agreement management.

New OC-48 and GbE muxponders with OTN OTU-2 line rates offer additional bandwidth efficiency. E-Line and E-LAN type services are supported using IEEE 802.1ad Provider Bridging (Q-in-Q). LightGAIN's Ethernet switch fully supports Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) using highly customizable and sophisticated load balancing algorithms.

Optelian will be showcasing LightGAIN's new network management features including automated mesh network design capabilities. Another example is enhanced OTN performance monitoring with super FEC and full OTN overhead monitoring.

LightGAIN's versatility will be highlighted as the same optical cards are used in access and metro CWDM applications as are used in metro and long-haul DWDM applications. This provides easy network expansions and simplified purchasing and sparing requirements.

"Whether a network operator is looking for a full network upgrade or simply relief on mobile backhaul links, Optelian's new product lineup will help them design a system that gets them into business very quickly," said Dave Mills, VP Sales at Optelian. "All of the products in Optelian's offering work together to minimize upfront costs while allowing a smooth network expansion."
