Optimal Awarded US$418 Thousand Contract to Map New Electric Transmission Line Routes for a Major US A&E Firm

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 23, 2007) - Optimal Geomatics Inc. (TSX VENTURE:OPG) ("Optimal"), a geomatics solutions provider to engineering and geospatial professionals, is pleased to announce that it has been retained by a major architectural and engineering ("A&E") firm to provide airborne LiDAR mapping services. The initial contract involves multiple new transmission line routes utilizing both existing and new rights-of-way. The highly-accurate data provided by Optimal will be used by the A&E firm to design overhead transmission lines for a utility in Northeast USA. The contract value is US$418 thousand.
