The Options Industry Council Introduces Updated "Taxes & Investing" Pamphlet in Time for Tax Season

CHICAGO, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 13, 2007 -- With tax season in full swing, The Options Industry Council (OIC) announced today an addendum to its Taxes & Investing pamphlet is now available on the OIC web site at http://www.888options.com/resources/literature/files/taxes_and_investing.pdf. The new addendum reflects changes in the federal income tax law through January 31, 2007 that affect options investments.

OIC's Taxes & Investing pamphlet is revised annually with details for investors on newly introduced federal income tax laws that affect options. The pamphlet summarizes the basic rules governing the federal income taxation of certain investments by individuals who are citizens or residents of the United States and who dispose of an investment in a taxable transaction.

The addendum included in the 2007 Taxes & Investing pamphlet is meant to serve as a temporary update to the brochure. Information in the addendum includes the new time range the tax rate on net capital gains can be applied, and revised pricing for itemized reductions for married tax payers filing separately.
