Optoma Drops Price of Pico PK101, World's Smallest DLP Projector

MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwire - September 1, 2009) - Optoma® Technology, Inc., the world's largest selling brand of DLP® projectors, has announced a price reduction on the Pico PK101 to a new manufacturer's suggested retail price of $229.00. The new price for the PK101, which is available from leading retailers and e-tailers, includes an iPod/iPhone connector kit, providing users with a ready-to-use video projection system right out of the box. The iPod/iPhone connector kit allows users to easily connect their PK101 to an iPod or iPhone, and the PK101 ships with two rechargeable batteries for convenient, uninterrupted use.

The PK101's price reduction comes on the heels of Optoma's introduction of the PK102, a new, upgraded 4.4 oz. Pico projector that provides four gigabytes of internal memory and allows unparalleled on-the-go content-sharing freedom to play stored videos and photos directly from internal memory or from USB memory keys and other external memory card readers. Both the PK101 and the PK102 connect directly to iPods, smartphones, digital cameras, or other devices with video output to display videos, photos or presentations playing on these devices.

The Pico PK101 is the world's smallest and lightest micro-portable DLP® projector. Weighing only 4 oz. and measuring a sleek 2" x 4" x 0.6" -- smaller than many smartphones -- the PK101 gives users of personal media devices, such as iPods and smartphones, the ability to project pictures and videos onto a screen or wall at sizes up to 100 times larger than the small screen of the source device.
