Oracle Cloud Platform Helps Leading Brands Worldwide Drive Innovation and Business Transformation

Burger King Saves $6 Million Using Oracle Cloud Platform Services

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 27, 2015) - ORACLE OPENWORLD -- Primed to be the #1 cloud platform company, Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) today announced that the Oracle Cloud Platform is experiencing phenomenal growth and is powering some of the world's leading organizations. Avaya, Burger King, Hi-Tech Textile, Mythics, Pride Mobility Products Corp., and Skanska are among over 2,500 organizations around the world using the Oracle Cloud Platform to transform their businesses. In just the last quarter (Q1FY16), Oracle added 800 PaaS customers, making the Oracle Cloud Platform the fastest growing cloud segment in Oracle's history.

Leading organizations are choosing Oracle's comprehensive, integrated portfolio of cloud platform and infrastructure services to easily build everything from a simple dev/test environment to migrating production workloads to the cloud. With more cloud services -- SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS -- than any other company on the planet, the Oracle Cloud Platform includes cloud services for application development, business analytics, content and collaboration, data management, integration, mobile, and IT management.

Oracle Helps Burger King Meet Regulatory Compliance Requirements
In order to quickly comply with new federal, state, and country regulations from the Brazilian Revenue Office for electronic invoicing for direct taxing, Burger King selected the Oracle Cloud Platform, specifically Oracle Java Cloud and Oracle Database Cloud services. It was the only cloud solution that addressed Burger King's ease of use, quick deployment and cost requirements. Using the Oracle Cloud Platform, Burger King was able to deliver the entire project in three days and has been able to meet the compliance deadline and avoid penalty, as well as achieve savings of 50 percent and decreased IT costs by 60 percent based on an on-premise IT model.

"Burger King was able to save $5 million in penalties by deploying Oracle Cloud Java Cloud Service and Oracle Database Cloud Service, which enabled us to meet regulatory compliance deadlines in an unbelievably short timeframe. We delivered the entire project in less than three days, resulting in 50 percent savings, as well as decreased our IT costs by 60 percent," said Marcelo Oliveira, head of IT, Burger King. "Now, we're looking to use additional Oracle Cloud services, including Oracle Documents Cloud Service and Oracle Integration Cloud Service, to implement a hybrid cloud strategy to connect our on-premise systems with our cloud applications."

Spotlight on Customer Success
"The Oracle Integration Cloud Service enabled us to consolidate multiple integration tools into a single platform very quickly," said Jill Von Berg, vice president of IT, Calix. "In a company that is continually innovating, IT must stay agile and able to respond quickly to evolving business needs. The Oracle Integration Cloud Service enables us to support continual innovation, deploy rapid integrations and realize significant IT savings."

"With our Oracle Database Cloud solution, we have been astounded at how fast and effectively we can get to market, and that is a huge differentiator that helps us deliver
ROI to our customers," said Ray Owens, CEO, DX Marketing.

"At L&T Financial Services, we offer micro loans to uplift the socio-economically challenged. We needed a way to simplify our sourcing and application processing, reduce cycle times and optimize our productivity and operational efficiency as we scale our business into remote areas of India," said Venkateswaran Krishnan, CIO, L&T Financial Services. "With Oracle Mobile Cloud and Oracle Mobile Application Framework we have been able to develop a cross platform, simple to use mobile application and securely integrate it with our core credit and processing systems to deliver a complete, seamless solution that will enable us to rapidly expand our business while maintaining industry-leading standards of customer service and operational excellence."

"As a start up, our customers want to know that SuiteBox services run on the most secure and reliable infrastructure, which is why we chose Oracle as our technology partner," said SuiteBox Founder Craig Meek. "The Oracle Cloud Platform gives us access to premier grade solutions at a much lower cost, giving our company and customers a robust platform that can scale as the business grows."

"By relying on a single set of deeply integrated technologies, we are achieving all the scalability and reliability we need -- even with a limited IT team," said Tatiane Leal, CIO, Unisul.

Oracle Cloud continues to show strong adoption, supporting 70+ million daily users and more than 34 billion transactions each day. It runs on more than 50,000 devices and more than 800 petabytes of storage in 19 data centers around the world.
