Orbite Appoints Leading Chief Engineer and Files a New Patent Application for the Production of Hematite

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - June 16, 2011) - Exploration Orbite VSPA Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ORT.A) announces the appointment of Mr. Denis Primeau as Chief Engineer, effective June 13, 2011.

Mr. Primeau is a seasoned executive with more than twenty years' experience in the chemical and petrochemical industries as well as other mining-related industries. In particular, Mr. Primeau was involved in the construction, commissioning and optimization of various types of chemical processes and, among others, was a key player for Rio Tinto during the construction and commissioning of a plant for the enrichment of minerals and in the recycling of hydrochloric-based materials. Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, he holds a bachelor of science in chemical engineering and a master of business administration (MBA) from University of Sherbrooke.

"We are pleased to benefit from Denis Primeau's expertise. Mr. Primeau's contribution to Orbite will further enhance Orbite's progress into its commercial phase," remarked Richard Boudreault.

"I am very pleased to join the Orbite team, which comprises individuals with vision and leading expertise at both the technical and business level. I am especially enthusiastic about the many challenges Orbite presents at a professional level," said Denis Primeau.

On May 31, 2011, Mr. Denis Primeau was awarded 400,000 shares with option to buy under Orbite's stock option plan. These shares, whose exercise price is $4.02 each, will be attributed in three equal parts over the next three years and will expire on May 31, 2016.

A new patent application for the production of hematite

On June 3, 2011, Orbite filed a new provisional patent application (No. 61/493, 018) in the United States, which aims to protect a new technology process for the byproduct production of hematite from iron content in Grande-Vallée argillite. This new technology will help increase potential revenues stemming from the Company's mining exploration activities. As a result, Orbite will be in a position to produce alumina, rare earths and hematite from argillite. In its pure form, hematite has several industrial applications, including its use for rubber, plastics, metallurgic iron and as a pigment for paint

"Unlike the Bayer process, Orbite's process effectively separates the iron from the silica, which allows for the production of byproduct products with significant added value. Moreover, Orbite's process is free from the toxic red mud normally produced by the Bayer process," said Dr. Joel Fournier, Orbite's Vice-President Technologies.

This latest patent application adds a fifth family of patents to the Company's portfolio, which already contains two patents for the production of alumina and two for the extraction of rare earths such as scandium and gallium. "The filing of this new patent enhances Orbite's comparative advantages at the environmental and technical level. Unquestionably, one of our priorities is to protect our extraction methods in order to strengthen the Company with strategic assets that have the potential to generate revenue," said Richard Boudreault, Orbite president and CEO.
