Oregon Auction Brings $2.1 Million; Albert Burney Returns to Carmel, Calif., for Auction of Santa Lucia Preserve Home Sites

CANBY, OR--(Marketwire - September 28, 2009) - Albert Burney Auction Company continued its streak of successful auctions along the West Coast Saturday with its sale of approximately 350 acres along the Molalla River in Clackamas County for $2.1 million.

The sale paves the way for the Oct. 3 sale of seven luxury home sites in the exclusive Santa Lucia Preserve, as the Albert Burney auction heads back to Monterey County, where the company sold a 104-acre ranch on Sept. 19 for $1.4 million.

"Nothing beats having some momentum, and we have a lot of that at the moment," said Warren Ward, president of the auction company, which attracted 13 bidders Saturday for the auction of the Oregon land, located along the Molalla River.

"This land had been in the same family for more than 70 years, and based on the interest leading up to the sale, we had been confident that we would have a strong outcome," said Ward. The property sold to two bidders -- one from Boston, Mass., and the other from San Jose, Calif.

The Santa Lucia Preserve home sites selling Oct. 3 are part of one of the world's most exclusive communities, where only 300 homes will exist among 20,000 acres -- 18,000 of which are permanently protected by a conservation easement. The development includes a Tom Fazio signature golf course, an equestrian center, lakes, pools and 100 miles of trails.

The Santa Lucia Preserve auction will begin at 4 p.m. at the Preserve Hacienda. Individuals interested in additional information about the auction may contact Albert Burney at 800-434-1654.

Albert Burney Auction Company, headquartered in Gadsden, Ala., is one of the nation's leading auction companies specializing in land, home sites, homes and other high-end real estate.
