Organic Endurathon Blazes Across Iowa With Earth Day Agenda: 10 Marathons in 10 Days Promises to Increase Awareness of Organic Lifestyle!

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 22, 2007 -- Ewire -- The Organic Endurathon, a one-man 260 mile run across Iowa, goes live this Earth day... organically, that is! Steve Shriver, Founder of Cedar Rapids-based Eco Lips Organic Lip Balm, conceived the idea in order to raise awareness of the importance of organic and sustainable living. A devoted athlete, a natural lifestyle devotee and Iowa resident, Steve will run 10 marathons in 10 days totaling 260 miles over Earth Day week (April 12-22) starting in Ames and ending in Iowa City. Trailing a 6-foot helium balloon of "planet earth," Steve and his support crew of cyclists will be clothed in organic and recycled performance wear and will eat only organic foods and beverages along the way.

According to Steve, "With only 100,000 organic acres in Iowa or 1/3 of 1%, we have our work cut out for us. However, with organic products being a hot health trend right now, we think our efforts will serve to build the kind of momentum necessary to eventually create a tipping point where an organic lifestyle becomes the norm."

During the ten-day marathon, Steve and his crew plan to educate and celebrate along the way with several events planned. For a complete list of activities, please see www.organicendurathon.com.
