TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 1, 2011) - Organic Potash Corporation (CNSX:GOP) ("OPC" or the "Corporation") is pleased to announce that the Corporation has commenced construction of its "K2" prototype portable processing plant. J&P Engineering Ltd, a highly regarded engineering and fabrication firm located in Ghana, was engaged to design and develop the K2 prototype.
K2 will record invaluable data while the unit is processing ash from organic waste into 99%+ pure potassium carbonate. All data recorded by K2 will then be analyzed by J&P's Engineers. The Engineers will use the recorded data to reconfigure the prototype to make it more efficient, by decreasing its power consumption while increasing the production capacity of the unit. Once J&P's Engineers have determined the most efficient processing method, the method will then be implemented into the full scale production line of the proposed processing facility in Takoradi.
In addition, the K2 prototype will be used as a template to construct new portable units that will be placed onsite of organic waste suppliers in areas not currently serviced. It is expected by placing portable units in non- serviced areas will lead to additional production and revenue to the Corporation.
