Organization Offers Supportive Housing in Edmonton for Youth at Risk


EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Oct. 29, 2013) - The Edmonton John Howard Society helps victims of crime in Edmonton and provides supportive housing in Edmonton for youth and services for those involved with the criminal justice system. Through local partnerships and events, the organization hopes to reach more youth than ever in the upcoming year.

Edmonton John Howard Society (EJHS) serves youth and families in the greater Edmonton area that are in need of support, housing, and supportive services.

EJHS offers innovative programs including:

  • Housing and help finding housing
  • Help finding employment
  • Help finding other community services
  • Supportive services
  • Anger management courses
  • Public Legal Education programs for schools and community groups
  • Financial Literacy Courses at the New Edmonton Remand Centre
  • Housing for youth experiencing homelessness
  • Services for individuals involved in domestic violence

The society also offers supportive housing in Edmonton for adults on parole or in need of transitional housing, and is currently in need of sleeping bags and blankets for the adult and youth clients experiencing homelessness. Their employment services are also in need of work boots for our clients who are seeking employment.
