Original Ginger Launches Abbotsford's Ground-Breaking Economic Development Website

BC Based Boutique Branding and Marketing Agency Delivers Game-Changing Website and Rebrand for City of Abbotsford Economic Development

FORT LANGLEY, BC--(Marketwired - November 26, 2015) - In a world where economic development agencies' promotional materials tend towards a safe, plain vanilla approach, Original Ginger's recent work on City of Abbotsford Economic Development's (CAED) branding and website is anything but ordinary.

Launched on November 18, 2015, by Fraser Valley BC-based boutique branding and marketing agency Original Ginger, CAED has broken the mould with a new award-winning video and website,

With the tagline "Tomorrow's Thinking Today," the work carried out by Original Ginger included the creation of a new brand identity and messaging for CAED, together with a video and a custom-built, interactive website. The website employs exciting CSS animation and a live messaging tool for users to interact with CAED agents in real-time.

"We were tasked with developing a truly unique brand and online experience that would distinguish CAED and the city of Abbotsford from other communities and promote its unparalleled advantages as a destination for business," said Todd Ostrowercha, Original Ginger's managing director.

"The feedback we've received since the launch has been that we've delivered an online experience that stands out from any other economic development agency's, not just in BC, but nationally and internationally," Ostrowercha added. "As a local, Fraser Valley-based agency, we're proud of the recognition and feel that it reflects the strong offerings that companies and communities in the region, such as Abbotsford, have to offer."

The video has won two awards from the Economic Developers Association of Canada in the Investment Attraction Tool category. Response to the website at its recent launch was also resoundingly positive, calling attention to the distinctive approach and effective use of imagery, technology and structure.

The rebrand involved an in-depth brand discovery exercise where Original Ginger worked closely with CAED to identify the essence of the city's brand and distil it into a comprehensive, actionable brand guide. The guide allows CAED to present clear, focused messaging that aligns with its strategy and goals.

"It has been a great experience, having the opportunity to really push the envelope on this project while still delivering a genuine, authentic message that promotes Abbotsford and the CAED as forward-thinking, innovative and approachable," said Ostrowercha. "It was an incredibly rewarding experience to work on this project and the end result is a reflection of the passion, dedication and hard work that went into it on all sides."
