Orlando Went to New York - Literally!

While New York Temperatures Froze, Times Square Island Sizzled in Tropical Heat Complete With Swimming Pools and Bathing Beauties

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 16, 2007 -- No man is an island, but one New York family was on Thursday, February 15th as the Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau unveiled the largest tourism marketing campaign in its history by transporting the family to a specially heated "Orlando Oasis" complete with experiences representing the best of Orlando -- all in the middle of dizzying Broadway traffic.

Orlando chose such a unique location to treat a local family to a "trip to Orlando without ever leaving New York" because New Yorkers make up Orlando's number one family vacation market. Commuters and pedestrians were dazzled by the exotic setting, which suddenly appeared Thursday morning.

With Mickey Mouse front and center, virtually all of Orlando's world-famous attractions including Walt Disney World, SeaWorld Orlando, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, Gatorland, and Medieval Times were offered to the Hilliards, who won a trip to Orlando through a contest asking for the top ten reasons why they needed a family vacation. In Times Square on Thursday, the family got the chance to experience not only a taste but the temperature of America's favorite family playground.
