Orleans Energy Announces Mailing of Joint Information Circular With RMP Energy Ltd.

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - April 15, 2011) - Orleans Energy Ltd. ("Orleans" or the "Company") (TSX:OEX) is pleased to announce today that it has mailed its joint information circular with RMP Energy Ltd. ("RMP") dated April 8, 2011 in respect of, among other things, Orleans' acquisition of RMP pursuant to a Plan of Arrangement. The joint information circular has also been posted on the System for Electronic Document Analysis and Retrieval ("SEDAR"). Orleans has given notice that an annual and special meeting (the "Orleans Meeting") of the holders of common shares ("Orleans Shareholders") of Orleans will be held in the Strand/Tivoli Room, The Metropolitan Conference Centre, 333 - 4th Avenue S.W., Calgary, Alberta at 9:00 a.m. (Calgary time) on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. The record date for the determination of Orleans Shareholders entitled to receive notice of and to vote at the Orleans Meeting is April 4, 2011.

RMP has given notice that a special meeting (the "RMP Meeting") of the holders ("RMP Shareholders") of common shares, first preferred shares series A-1 and first preferred shares series A-2 of RMP will be held in the Broadway A and B Rooms, Sun Life Plaza Conference Centre, Mezzanine Level, 140 - 4th Avenue S.W., Calgary, Alberta at 11:00 a.m. (Calgary time) on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. The record date for the determination of RMP Shareholders entitled to receive notice of and to vote at the RMP Meeting is April 1, 2011.
