Oryon Technologies Appoints Business Performance Expert to Board

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - Aug 1, 2012) - Oryon Technologies, Inc. (OTCQB: ORYN) (PINKSHEETS: ORYN) ("Oryon" or the "Company"), a developer and manufacturer of the innovative next-generation, flexible, crushable, water resistant and wearable lighting technology known as Elastolite® is pleased to announce and welcome the appointment of Mr. Richard K. Hoesterey to the Board of Directors.

Mr. Hoesterey brings over 35 years of experience in the manufacturing, supply chain, distribution and service sectors. His highly effective career as a senior corporate executive and as a management consultant spans a number of Fortune 500 companies, start-up operations, and turnarounds. He has served as an officer and/or member of Boards of Directors for public and private companies including the Components Corporation of America (CCA), Trulite, Inc, Micropac Industries, Inc., and Sealco, Inc. and is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). He has also served on the Advisory Board of Standard Renewable Energy Group, LLC and the Business Development Board of American National Bank of Texas. He led CCA, a privately-owned holding company, as President and CEO for 10 years. Following his 2009 retirement from CCA, Mr. Hoesterey formed R.K. Hoesterey & Associates to continue applying his expertise enhancing business performance with client companies and as a trusted advisor to CEOs of small to mid-cap companies.

Prior to CCA, Mr. Hoesterey served six years as Senior Partner, Thomas Group, Inc; driving client companies through culture change and process improvement. Previously, he was Executive V.P. of EPI Technologies, which was preceded by operations and manufacturing management positions at Compaq Telecommunications, Harris Corporation, and Xerox. Mr. Hoesterey has actively participated in community service as a member of the Associate Board, SMU Cox School of Business -- executive mentoring for MBA students, as an executive mentor for secondary school principals in Richardson, Texas ISD and with the Board of Trustees, SMU Catholic Campus Ministry. He earned a BBA, Industrial Management, Clarkson University, and also achieved lifetime professional certification (CPIM) from the American Production & Inventory Control Society.
