OSA International, Inc. Concludes the Fifty-Six City Steely Dan 2014 Jamalot Ever After Tour

OSA International, Inc. Has the Largest Inventory of Martin Audio's Multi-Cellular Loudspeaker Array (MLA) Sound Systems in North America

LAS VEGAS, NV and CHICAGO, IL and NASHVILLE, TN--(Marketwired - Sep 22, 2014) - OSA International, Inc. wraps up Steely Dan's final performance last night at The Capitol Theatre in New York. OSA was selected to provide the system for the tour centered on Martin Audio's Multi-Cellular Loudspeaker Array (MLA) sound system, faithfully delivering FOH Engineer Mark Dowdle's audio design for the 56-city Steely Dan 2014 Jamalot Ever After tour across the U.S. and Canada.

"A veteran audio pro myself, it truly was an honor to be part of the audio engineering team for Walter Becker and Donald Fagan," says OSA's Martyn "Ferrit" Rowe, crew chief/MLA engineer for the Steely Dan tour. "Their strive for perfection in sound production is why audiophiles and pro audio engineers use Steely Dan tracks to tune their systems, and I had the opportunity to work with the real deal."

"They are studio cats who expect to deliver the same quality in their live shows, and we achieved that using Martin Audio's MLA sound system," continues Rowe. "MLA allowed us to solve many of the issues a conventional PA wouldn't be able to do, particularly in realms of consistency for the engineer. He is able to achieve his mix and translate his mix moves throughout the entire audience zone unlike other systems."

Becker and Fagan first experienced MLA capabilities in 2013 at the Ravinia Festival Pavilion, home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in Highland Park, where OSA had just completed a permanent installation of the system for its summer series. MLA breaks the current paradigm for speaker design by looking at the audience listening area and through intuitive software and Multi-Cellular Drive delivers stellar coverage for the user-defined audience area (default is +/- 1/2 dB over that area). The capabilities of the MLA technology are setting a benchmark for the future of speaker system designs, giving the engineer the ability to project the performance to exact locations all while delivering consistent quality for the audience wherever they are seated. After the success of last summer's concert at Ravinia, FOH Engineer Dowdle initiated further research into the system and OSA, who has the largest inventory of MLA in North America along with the expertise to navigate the system and maximize its capabilities.

Prior to joining OSA as the senior director of engineering, Rowe was the MLA product specialist at Martin Audio. His expertise of the system and previous touring credentials, such as Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osborne, Black Sabbath, KISS, The Who, Elton John, and The Police, was a valuable combination on the tour. He played a critical role as crew chief and MLA system engineer, along with Dowdle and System Technician Bob Alumbaugh, for the sound production during in this year's summer tour.

"When we first heard and worked with MLA, even in its beta stage, we knew it was the future of sound systems," said CEO & Founder Mario Educate of OSA International, Inc. "We have seen MLA become the most sought-after sound system for all types of events. The quality, consistency, and precision (in any environment), makes this the most exciting technology the audio industry has seen in decades."

Throughout the tour, there were many positive concert reviews across the country about the superior performance and sound quality -- "Jam Magazine Online" stated it was "audio perfection." Even the audience noticed the difference and commented on the how good the mix on a daily basis as they filed past the mix. Day in and day out Mark Dowdle delivered a stellar mix on the MLA system.

"All in all I would have to say it was an honor to join the outstanding Steely Dan tour crew and take part in making the magic happen," added OSA's Vice President Jim Risgin.
