Oslo Selects HITT & Era for Multilateration and ADS-B Surveillance Solution

ALEXANDRIA, VA--(Marketwire - June 14, 2007) - Era Corporation announced today that Oslo Airport, Norway's gateway airport, has selected HITT (Holland Institute of Traffic Technology B.V.) and Era Corporation to expand surface surveillance with Era's MSS network of multilateration and ADS-B sensors and SQUID vehicle tracking units.

Oslo Airport was recently found by The Association of European Airlines (AEA) to be one of the leading airports in Europe for on-time performance, with 81.6% of all departures on-time. Additionally, Oslo is the fastest growing major airport among the Nordic countries, with approximately 17.7 million passengers travelling through the airport in 2006, a 1.8 million increase over 2005. In order to uphold their record growth, high safety, and recognized on-time performance, airport officials have chosen to invest in improving their surface surveillance capabilities.

Oslo now adds Era's multilatareration and ADS-B surveillance technology to an extensive surface tracking and aircraft routing system, including primary X band radar and a taxiway guidance lighting system.

Era's solution includes their widely deployed Squid ADS-B vehicle transponders, which will allow ground vehicles to be managed using the same technology used by aircraft. This enables air traffic controllers a single view of all surface traffic in all weather conditions.

"Oslo is an important customer for the Era and HITT team and expands our partnership in Scandinavia, where we have already delivered a successful system in Copenhagen," said Dave Ellison, President & CEO of Era Corporation. "Era and HITT have a well-deserved reputation for working together to deliver solutions on-time and on-target to meet critical surveillance needs of our customers."
