TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 11, 2009) -

Seven hundred delegates, alternates and guests from all parts of the province will attend this year's Annual Meeting of the Provincial Assembly of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation (OSSTF/FEESO).

President, Ken Coran will deliver his first report as president of OSSTF/FEESO at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and will be available for interviews at noon after the Minister of Education delivers her remarks.

During the annual meeting, Kathleen Wynne, Minister of Education; The Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, Chelsea Edwards, Attawapiskat student, and Andrea Horwath, Leader of the Ontario New Democratic Party (ONDP), will address the delegates.

Media representatives are welcome throughout all three days of the assembly. Please report to the credentials desk in the Grand Ballroom foyer to pick up media passes.



ASSEMBLY HIGHLIGHTS

Saturday, March 14
09:30 President Ken Coran will deliver the state of the union
address.
11:00 Honourable Kathleen Wynne, Minister of Education, will
address the delegates followed by a question and answer
period.
11:30 Presentation of the Student Achievement Awards in honour
of Marion Drysdale. This moving ceremony honours students
from across the province.

Sunday, March 15
11:15 The Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of
Ontario, will address the delegates.
11:40 Presentation by Chelsea Edwards, Attawapiskat student

Monday, March 16
11:30 Andrea Horwath, Leader of the ONDP will address the
delegates.


OSSTF/FEESO, founded in 1919, has 60,000 members across Ontario. They include public high school teachers, occasional teachers, education assistants, continuing education teachers and instructors, psychologists, secretaries, speech-language pathologists, social workers, plant support personnel, attendance counsellors, and many others in education.
