President, Ken Coran delivers the state of the union address
to 600 delegates, alternates and guests from across Ontario at
9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 8


Six hundred delegates, alternates and guests from all parts of the province will attend this year's Annual Meeting of the Provincial Assembly of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation (OSSTF).

President, Ken Coran will deliver his first report as president of OSSTF at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and will be available for interviews at noon after the Minister of Education delivers her remarks.

During the annual meeting, Kathleen Wynne, Minister of Education; Howard Hampton, Leader of the Ontario New Democratic Party and Craig Kielburger, founder of Free the Children, will address the delegates.

Media representatives are welcome throughout all three days of the assembly. Please report to the credentials desk in the Grand Ballroom foyer to pick up media passes.

ASSEMBLY HIGHLIGHTS



Saturday, March 8
0930 President Ken Coran will deliver the state of the union address.
1100 Honourable Kathleen Wynne, Minister of Education, will address
the delegates followed by a question and answer period.
1130 Presentation of the Marion Drysdale Awards. This moving ceremony
honours students from across the province.

Sunday, March 9
1115 Craig Kielburger, Founder of Free the Children, will address the
delegates.

Monday, March 10
1130 Howard Hampton, Leader of the Ontario New Democratic Party will
address the delegates followed by a question and answer period.


OSSTF/FEESO, founded in 1919, has 60,000 members across Ontario. They include public high school teachers, occasional teachers, education assistants, continuing education teachers and instructors, psychologists, secretaries, speech-language pathologists, social workers, plant support personnel, attendance counsellors, and many others in education.
