(OTCBB: APDN) Announces Partnership With Former Defense Department Logistics Agency CEO

NOTE TO EDITORS: The Following Is an Investment Opinion Being Issued by the IO News Wire.

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - September 30, 2010) -  Applied DNA Sciences, Inc (OTCBB: APDN), a leader in the protection of products, brands and intellectual property from counterfeiting and diversion, announced earlier this week the appointment of the former CEO and Director of the Defense Department's Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Vice Admiral Edward M. Straw.

The DLA employs nearly 26,000 employees from its Northern Virginia headquarters at Fort Belvoir. In 2009 the DLA had revenues of nearly $38 billion worldwide. This would put the DLA in the top 60 of the Fortune 500 list. On any given day, the DLA is responsible for processing 133,000 requisitions and almost 10,000 contract actions.

By partnering with a former CEO who has managed an organization with the third largest storage capacity of goods (only United Parcel Service and FedEx are larger), Applied DNA Sciences is now near the forefront of Forensic ID Technology and Supply Chain Management.
