Ottawa Senators announce United Way Appreciation Nights at Scotiabank Place

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 14, 2010) - The Ottawa Senators and United Way Ottawa announced today the launch of United Way Appreciation Nights at Scotiabank Place. The month-long promotion offers fans the opportunity to purchase tickets and give back to their community at the same time.

Starting with tonight's game against Carolina and running for the games on Oct. 26 versus Phoenix, Oct. 28 with Florida and Nov. 4 against the New York Islanders, there will be four United Way Appreciation Nights this season. Fans can purchase two tickets to any of these games and with each purchase, the Senators will donate two tickets to United Way for distribution to various community agencies. The agencies will use the tickets to give their clients an experience of seeing a Sens game live.

"Giving back to our community continues to be important to the Senators and we hope our fans embrace this program," said Senators president Cyril Leeder. "The work that United Way Ottawa does in our community is very important and we're looking forward to the chance to provide tickets to help even more Sens fans visit Scotiabank Place."

United Way Appreciation Nights are part of the Senators Campaign Assist Program, which was developed to support workplaces running charitable campaigns by providing them the opportunity to purchase group tickets and receive additional Sens tickets and merchandise to assist their campaigns.

"The Senators have been a long-time partner of United Way Ottawa, and we continue to benefit greatly from their support," said Michael Allen, president and chief executive officer of United Way Ottawa. "The game nights will help to raise awareness about our community initiatives, while providing Senators fans with the opportunity to give back to the community."

Tickets for United Way Appreciation Nights can be purchased by contacting or calling 613-599-0210. For more information about the Campaign Assist Program, visit
