Ottawa Senators Announce Update to Pay-Per-View Registration

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 8, 2006) - The Ottawa Senators announced today an update on the first pay-per-view package in franchise history.

Pay-per-view registration is off to an impressive start, with more than 90 bars in Ottawa, Gatineau, Belleville, Pembroke, Brockville, Cornwall, Kingston and several rural towns signed up to show Senators action to their patrons. Included in this group are several of the larger sports bar chains in the Ottawa area, including Local Heroes, Boston Pizza, the Broadway Bar and Grill and the Royal Oak.

In support of the participating establishments, the Senators are providing point-of-sale materials such as banners and posters to help create a fun and exciting hockey atmosphere. "The response thus far has exceeded our expectations," said Jim Steel, the Senators vice-president of broadcasting. "More than 100 Sens Pay-per-View Central locations are planned for Ottawa and surrounding areas, and we are confident that the establishments will be rewarded with increased business."

Senators fans can watch the first pay-per-view broadcast when Ottawa faces Dominik Hasek and the Red Wings in Detroit on Monday, Dec. 12, at 7:30 p.m. Other broadcasts include the Rangers in New York City on Tuesday, March 13, at 7 p.m.; Sidney Crosby and the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Sunday, March 18, at 7:30 p.m., and the New Jersey Devils in East Rutherford, N.J., on Tuesday, April 3, at 7:30 p.m.

The lone home game on this season's pay-per-view offer will feature the Senators' fourth and final regular-season home game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, March 8, at 7:30 p.m.

Individual subscribers can order the game through their service provider (Bell ExpressVu, Rogers, or Starchoice). Details on how to order and a list of participating establishments will be updated on the Senators website ( in the coming weeks.
