Ottawa Senators and the Bell Sensplex Announce Creation of Sens Ultimate Experience Summer Hockey Camp

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 1, 2012) - The Bell Sensplex announced today that the facility will host the inaugural Sens Ultimate Experience camp beginning on July 2. The camp is the newest addition to the lineup of 29 other 2012 Ottawa Senators Summer Hockey Camps, for which registrations are currently being accepted.

Held exclusively for competitive and house league players born between 2000 and 2003, the Sens Ultimate Experience camp will be held from Monday, July 2, through Friday, July 6. The session precedes the July 9 launch of 2012 Senators camps at the Bell Sensplex and features instruction from Senators coaches, players and alumni in addition to several Sens-specific experiences.

The camp, which is limited to 78 skaters and 12 goalies, has a registration fee of $799 and includes on and off-ice instruction from Senators assistant coaches Dave Cameron and Mark Reeds in addition to goaltending coach Rick Wamsley, Senators conditioning coach Chris Schwarz and various Ottawa Senators Hockey Programs instructors.

Similar to each of the facility's camps, the Sens Ultimate Experience has been designed to provide participants with a fun, hard-working environment in which they will improve their abilities and level of enjoyment in hockey, but with the unique addition of providing players with the opportunity to feel what it is like to join the ranks of the NHL's elite.

Senators forward Chris Neil will be joined by former Senator and longtime NHL forward Todd White to each lead one of the daily on-ice instruction sessions, while former Ottawa 67's player and Bell Sensplex head of hockey development Peter Ambroziak will provide instruction throughout the week.

"The inaugural Sens Ultimate Experience camp will offer participants the chance to be put through their paces by coaches from the world's highest level of hockey and an ability to go behind the scenes to see a bit of what its like to be an NHL player," said Bell Sensplex programs manager Andy Bryan. "In continuing to combine top-level instruction with all of the amenities at the region's best facilities, we firmly believe that this camp will provide participants with an experience that cannot be replicated elsewhere."

While separate groups will be available for both house league and competitive players, each participant will receive a personalized replica Senators jersey (and other camp apparel), the opportunity to participate in a meet-and-greet session with Senators prospects, a tour of Scotiabank Place (including a look inside the Senators locker room), about three hours of daily ice time featuring a Senators guest instructor each day and the chance to skate in a pro-style exhibition game to conclude the camp, complete with music, announcements, player introductions and referees. Additional camp details will be announced at a later date.
