Community Organizations Pay Tribute to Outgoing Ottawa Police Chief

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 18, 2006) - On Thursday, Dec. 21, community organizations across Ottawa will gather at Scotiabank Place to pay tribute to outgoing Ottawa police chief, Vince Bevan. Although Chief Bevan does not officially retire from his post until the spring of 2007, this evening is an opportunity to honour his contributions to Ottawa and the major role he has played in building a strong, healthy and safe community for all. The evening will consist of a reception and dinner, followed by the Ottawa Senators game against the Tampa Bay Lighting.

Proceeds from this event will be directed by the Ottawa Senators Foundation to United Way/Centraide Ottawa's 2006 Community Campaign, which chief Bevan chairs.

What: Tribute to the Chief - an evening to recognize outgoing police
chief Vince Bevan.

When: 5:30 p.m. - Reception; 6 p.m. - Dinner; 6:45 p.m. - Tribute to
the Chief; 7:30 p.m. - Ottawa Senators vs. Tampa Bay Lighting.

Where: Scotiabank Place, Coliseum Room.
