Ottawa Senators Reassign Kaspars Daugavins to Mississauga (OHL)

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 23, 2008) - The Ottawa Senators today reassigned forward Kaspars Daugavins to the Mississauga St. Michaels Majors of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

In 23 games with the B-Sens this season, Daugavins has scored twice and added one assist, while recording nine penalty minutes.

The 20-year-old was Ottawa's second third-round pick (91st overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

The native of Riga, Latvia, played 62 games last year with the Majors, scoring a team-leading 40 goals and adding 34 assists. His 74 points ranked him first on his team. He also had 18 goals and 42 assists in 61 games with St. Michael's in 2006-07.

The Binghamton Senators (15-9-3-3) next see action on Friday, Dec. 26, when they host the Syracuse Crunch.

The Mississauga St. Michael's Majors (17-14-1-1) head to Belleville on Saturday, Dec. 27, to take on the Bulls.
