Ounce Labs Appoints Michelle Dickey as Vice President of Federal Sales

Requirements for Auditing and Improving Software Security Accelerate Market Growth

WALTHAM, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 8, 2005 -- Ounce Labs, the leader in software security assurance, today announced it has named federal software expert Michelle Dickey as Vice President of Federal Sales. With nearly 30 years of experience providing software solutions to government organizations, Dickey will lead Ounce Labs' growing federal sales force from her Maryland office.

"The federal sector is currently leading other markets in the implementation of software assurance programs, and the rapid growth of our product demand in this area is reflected accordingly," said Jack Danahy, CEO of Ounce Labs. "Michelle has the expertise and approach we need to capitalize on this growth, having demonstrated a great ability to match emerging technologies with the needs of federal agencies."

In previous positions, Dickey has achieved impressive sales growth and channel development for several emerging software vendors, including Serena Software and GlobalLearningSystems. Prior to these companies, she served as Director of Government Operations for Rational Software, where she led an increase in federal sales revenue from $6 million to $126 million in nine years.

"Agencies are required to audit their software systems to identify and remediate vulnerabilities, but in many cases they end up signing waivers that they don't have sufficient resources to comply," said Dickey. "Ounce Labs' customers are changing this approach with effective software assurance programs made possible by our automated product suite."

Ounce Labs' products allow agencies to measure software vulnerability levels and adherence to security standards by analyzing the software's source code. This technology helps agencies meet requirements for software assurance detailed in recommendations from organizations such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
