The Outcry Intensifies in Monteregie With Regards to the Industrial Windmills on Quebec's Best Agricultural Lands

Two public events will take place this week.

SAINT-PAUL-DE-L'ÎLE-AUX-NOIX, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 7, 2011) - Numerous farmers are mobilizing in Monteregie. Many will displace their heavy machinery on Tuesday February 8, 2011 at 6:15 p.m. at the Napierville Golf Club, located at 30 rang Cyr.

They plan to stand firm against Hydro-Quebec's evening information session with regards to the future lanes and positioning of electricity pylons on their lands.

Several mayors of the Monteregie coalition and their municipal councillors will also be present at this demonstration.

The coalition of mayors, who are forming a common front against the placement of industrial windmills in inhabited regions, will also hold its first public information session on February 10, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Leodore-Ryan socio-cultural Center, located at 10 Sainte-Marie Street in Lacolle.

On the agenda: testimonies from an economist, an engineer, a lawyer, a real estate agent and many informed citizens.
