OuterBay CFO to Present at National Association of Corporate Directors Conference on the New Corporate Governance Environment

Christine Russell to Discuss Experience as Both a CFO and Director on a Panel at "Rules of the Road" Seminar

CUPERTINO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 7, 2005 -- OuterBay, a leader in information lifecycle management (ILM) solutions for applications and databases, today announced that its CFO, Christine Russell, will speak on how to meet corporate governance expectations in today's business environment as a panelist at "Rules of the Road," an executive seminar produced by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and Financial Executives International (FEI.)

Christine Russell will be a panelist in "The New Corporate Governance Environment and the New Expectations of the CFO" session, scheduled from 8:45 - 10:15 a.m. on June 14th at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, CA. The panel will focus on the Board's relationship to the CFO. Russell's co-presenters are Richard H. Koppes, of the Jones Day international law firm and former Deputy Executive Director of CalPERS, and Lionel (Lon) Allan, Past-Chairman, Governance Committee, Catalyst Semiconductor and NetLogic Microsystems, Inc. Peter Gleason, NACD's COO, will serve as the moderator of the session.

"Recent, highly publicized accounting inquiries have led to positive changes in corporate practices, including stricter scrutiny of financial practices and greater legal accountability," said OuterBay CFO, Christine Russell. "The new corporate governance rules have provided CFOs and Boards with a powerful framework to set the tone at the top of the organization. These initiatives also require the CFO to work more closely with the Board. This is a key relationship for keeping the company on track financially and ethically."

The session is part of "Rules of the Road: What Boards Expect from the CFO," a one-day seminar designed to enhance risk management and deepen the CFO's understanding of the expectations of audit committees and boards in the new era of heightened scrutiny.
