Outstanding Educators Honoured by the Catholic Principals' Council of Ontario

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - April 18, 2007) - On April 20, 2007 the Catholic Principals' Council of Ontario will present its annual awards in Niagara Falls, Ontario at the Grand Halls C/D in the Fallsview Casino. CPCO will present district awards for Principal of the Year to the following recipients: Richard Ciupa, Principal of St. Gabriel Lalemant Catholic School, Niagara Falls; Paul Barchiesi, Principal of St. Michael's Catholic High School, Niagara Falls; Linda Frost, Principal of St. Paul's Catholic School, Whitby; Nancy Drynan, Principal of Holy Cross Catholic School, Oshawa; Mike Courchesne, principal of St. Gregory's Catholic School, Powassan; Larry Murray, Principal of St. Aloysius Catholic School, Stratford; Suzanne Rossini, Principal of St. Patrick's Catholic School, Burlington.

John Wheatley, former director of Wellington Catholic District School Board and currently the Executive Director of the Ontario Catholic Supervisory Officers' Association will receive the Fr. John Redmond Award for outstanding contribution to Catholic education in the province of Ontario.

Richard Ciupa, principal in the Niagara Catholic District School Board, will receive the Distinguished Service Award for contributions to the membership of the Catholic Principals' Council of Ontario.

Paul Carr, principal in the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board, will receive the Past-President's Award for his six years of service on the provincial executive. Paul Carr served as CPCO president from July 2005 to June 2006.
