OVH Announces New Hosted Private Cloud Offerings for US Market

OVH delivers next-generation services for hosted private cloud, disaster recovery, and hybridity leveraging industry-leading solutions

RESTON, VA--(Marketwired - Nov 20, 2017) - OVH, a global hyper-scale cloud provider, today announced the next-generation Hosted Private Cloud offerings, evolving the vCloud® Air™ powered by OVH product line. These offerings include new options for disaster recovery, enterprise-grade private cloud, and enhanced hybridity that will help businesses modernize their technology stacks. As a leading cloud provider, OVH announced its entry to the US market via its acquisition of the vCloud Air business from VMware in April 2017. Targeted to midsize to enterprise companies, the updated product line will significantly enhance cloud workload flexibility and portability while leveraging the growing OVH data center footprint, OVH's expert sales and support technicians, and the newly announced VMware HCX hybridity technology.

The top three benefits that customers look to gain from the cloud are application agility, cost savings, and retiring obsolete hardware, according to findings in Gartner's "Best Practice in Market Differentiation with Mature Cloud Service Contracts." [1] To deliver the value that customers expect, OVH believes cloud service providers must offer flexible and comprehensive infrastructure options that support multi-cloud and hybrid strategies. OVH is introducing new Hosted Private Cloud and hybrid cloud solutions on proprietary, next-generation hardware and software that can be augmented with its high-performance Dedicated Server, Public Cloud, and network product lines. These new offerings are based on VMware's technologies to allow seamless workload mobility whether on-premises or in the cloud. All of these solutions immediately open access to the OVH global ecosystem of 27 data centers, 33 points of presence, world-class security and anti-DDoS protection.

"Businesses need solutions that scale dynamically and are supported by top-tier customer service experts to meet their evolving private cloud demands," said Russell P. Reeder, President and CEO of OVH US. "Businesses are dynamic. Cloud providers must support business change as rapidly as it occurs. OVH works with our customers to deliver the best-fit infrastructure and software options they need to help them operate better, faster, and more efficiently."

OVH partners with customers to solve their cloud challenges with the new Hosted Private Cloud lineup:

  • Enterprise Dedicated Cloud - Built on the foundation of VMware's software-defined data center and the latest generation of Intel hardware, the Dedicated Cloud offerings provide physically-isolated, single-tenant cloud environments for enterprise workloads. Resources are delivered in a public cloud manner, enabling one-click, user-controlled provisioning that gives enterprises the flexibility to add and remove resources as their needs change. Full access to familiar VMware tools already used on-premises, including VMware vSphere®, vCenter Server®, and NSX®, reduces ramp-time for customers.

  • Disaster Recovery - Based on the core Dedicated Cloud offerings and configuration choices, OVH Disaster Recovery provides adaptable, simple-to-use solutions that reduce recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs). Customers can solve disaster recovery on-premises-to-cloud or cloud-to-cloud. OVH has partnered with industry leaders to provide best-of-breed disaster recovery software options via VMware vSphere Replication™, Zerto®, or VMware HCX technologies, so customers can choose the "right-fit" for their business continuity plans.

  • Hybridity with VMware HCX - OVH Hosted Private Cloud solutions, coupled with VMware HCX technologies, enables high-performance, secure, and large-scale workload mobility between any vSphere platform -- on-premises or the OVH cloud. HCX allows for workloads to be migrated with zero downtime. Further, HCX abstracts multisite resources and presents them to applications as one continuous "hybrid" cloud.

"OVH is one of the first cloud providers to offer VMware HCX technologies and has long-supported VMware's vision of multi-cloud," said Allwyn Sequeira, senior vice president and general manager, VMware Hybrid Cloud Services. "OVH already had a strong history of delivering cloud services based on VMware technology. With the acquisition of vCloud Air, OVH's support and operational organizations are well prepared to support HCX."
