PacBay Granted an Additional 55 Uranium Claims in the Matoush Area, Otish Mountains, Quebec

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - April 11, 2007) - Mr. George Sanders, President, Consolidated Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:CBP)(the "Company") is pleased to report that the Company has been granted an additional 55 claims in the Matoush area covering radiometric trends indicated in its 2006 helicopter radiometric, magnetic and electro-magnetic survey. Pacific Bay Minerals now holds 100% interest in 285 claims in the Otish Basin, and recently announced the staking of 622 claims in the nearby Papaskwasati Basin, to bring its total land holdings to 907 claims representing an area of 483 square kilometres, (186 square miles) within highly prospective uranium-bearing rock formations of central Quebec.

Ground geophysical surveys are in progress after some delay due to unpredictable weather conditions. Diesel and helicopter fuel and basic camp supplies have been mobilized over the Eastmain winter road and are now cached in the Matoush area, ready to move on-site once the geophysical data is analyzed and drill targets are established. We acknowledge the cooperation of our fellow explorer Strateco Resources in assisting with deployment logistics.

A new graphic of the Matoush area claims has been posted to our website, where the report on the Aeroquest August, 2006 helicopter geophysical survey can be downloaded. Pacific Bay Minerals, Ltd. explores for uranium and precious metals in Quebec and Argentina. Please visit for more information.
