Pacific Coast Nickel Announces Changes to Board of Directors

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 15, 2008) - Today at the Annual and Special Meeting of Pacific Coast Nickel Corp. (TSX VENTURE:NKL) (the "Company"), the largest shareholder of the Company, Longview Capital Partners Incorporated, nominated, and the shareholders elected, new directors to join Damien Reynolds as the re-elected director of the Company. The newly elected directors of the Company are John Icke and James Walchuck. Mr. Icke is currently President and Chief Operating Officer of Longview Capital Partners and has more that 25 years global management experience. Mr. Walchuck is and has 30 years of experience in the technical and corporate aspects of minerals exploration, project development, and mine operations.

The revised board of Directors are Damien Reynolds, Jim Walchuck, John Icke, Micheal Sweatman, John Kerr, and Murray McClaren. At a subsequent board meeting Damien Reynolds was elected Chairman. Jim Walchuck was appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer, replacing Michael Sweatman.

Management of the Company welcomes the new directors and officers and looks forward to working with them as the Company continues to pursue its opportunities to enhance shareholder value. New Director Background Summaries

John Icke has been the President and Chief Operating Officer of Longview Capital Partners Incorporated since January 2008. Mr. Icke has more than 25 years global management experience in both the private and public sector. Prior to joining Longview, he was a principal of JRI Strategy Consultants Inc. and, prior to that, President of Accenture Business Services for Utilities. His previous positions include: President and Chief Executive Officer of Lily Cups Inc; founding director and Chairman of the Canadian Polystyrene Recycling Association; Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Indigo N.V.'s worldwide packaging business; and Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Sweetheart Cup, a subsidiary of Fort Howard.

James Walchuck was President and CEO of Tournigan Energy from May 2005 until July 2008. He is currently a Director of Encanto Potash and Appleton Exploration Corp. Prior to that, Mr. Walchuck was Vice President, Mining of Tournigan Gold Corp. from May 2004 to May 2005 and Mine Manager for Barrick Gold Corp. at its Bulyanhulu Mine from August 1999 to July 2002. Mr. Walchuck has over 29 years of experience in the technical and corporate aspects of mineral exploration, project development and mine operations, and has held various management level positions since 1991.
