Pacnet Receives Frost & Sullivan 2014 Asia Pacific Data Communications Product Line Differentiation Award

HONG KONG, CHINA--(Marketwired - Oct 12, 2014) - Pacnet, a leading provider of integrated technology solutions in the Asia-Pacific region, received the prestigious Frost & Sullivan 2014 Asia Pacific Data Communications Product Line Differentiation Award. The accolade is a testament to Pacnet's success in creating a differentiated value proposition for its data communications services in the region.

Pacnet introduced Pacnet Enabled Network (PEN), an industry-first service platform that leverages Software-defined Networking (SDN) to deliver flexible and scalable bandwidth configurable by customers, last November. PEN brings cloud provisioning to the network, enabling customers to self-provision and configure their network resources instantly as well as control network performance and quality of service parameters using a flexible pricing model and industry-leading SLAs. Since its launch, PEN has been deployed by organizations across the Asia Pacific region and is available in Pacnet data centers in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and the United States.

"We had witnessed the availability of computing and storage as a pay-per-use resource providing greater flexibility and scalability for enterprise IT than ever before. However, the network had not caught up with the trend. In the second half of 2013, Pacnet made an industry-defining announcement with the launch of its Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) offering. NaaS provides enterprises with the much sought-after flexibility and scalability in provisioning network resources. Pacnet makes it available through an easy-to-use and highly visual self-service portal which allows its customers to choose duration, bandwidth and latency. The service is backed by the company's robust infrastructure, including its enterprise-class data centers and privately-owned submarine cables," said Ms. Danni Xu, Industry Analyst, Asia Pacific Data Center and Cloud Practice, Frost & Sullivan. "The ability to self-provision point-to-point network resources, define performance characteristics and create virtual links to meet the demands of multiple traffic profiles is a key differentiator for Pacnet in the Asia Pacific data communications market."

In selecting the award recipient, the research team of Frost & Sullivan tracked all the service providers in the data communications market in Asia-Pacific, studied their individual product roadmaps, differentiation strategies and how their vision aligns with market trends. Pacnet has secured the highest rating in the study and was awarded the number one industry ranking in product differentiation.

"We have reached many successful milestones in our business in the Asia-Pacific region over the past year and have emerged as a category leader through our tailored data centre strategies, technology innovations, quality of delivery and exceptional customer experience. We are delighted that our innovation for data communications solutions such as PEN has been recognized for their ability to drive change and create market differentiations," said Mr. Jim Fagan, President of Managed Services, Pacnet.

This latest award for Pacnet validates the company's success in providing customers with scalable bandwidth as well as integrated software-enabled intelligence through Pacnet's network of data centers and undersea cable infrastructure. The company achieved the Innovation Award at the Asia Communication Awards (ACA) staged in Singapore and won the CeBit Australia Business Award for Innovation, where PEN was selected as an outstanding achievement in the information and communications technology industry.
