Pakit to Begin Strategic Growth in South America, CEO to Attend International Congress on Pulp and Paper in Brazil

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Aug. 31, 2010) - Pakit Inc. (Pakit), a leading international developer of clean technology products for the packaging industry, is sending their CEO to attend the 43rd Pulp and Paper International Congress and Exhibition (ABTCP) in Brazil, October 4 to 6, 2010, where he is scheduled to meet with top executives of Brazil's Pulp and Paper industry.

"Brazil and South America represent a sizable and significant market for Pakit," said Mr. Brian Birmingham, Pakit Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. "The Brazilian forestry productivity is envied world-wide."

With the use of fast growing eucalyptus and pine, and leading edge technology, Brazil has become the fourth largest Pulp and Paper producer in the world, producing in excess of 13.5 million tons of pulp in 2009*.

Pakit's revolutionary new technology process of producing sustainable packaging made of pulp provides Brazilian pulp producers with a new use for their growing capacity. Pakit's technology produces products which are more economical and offer superior performance to other contending packaging products.

"The pakit100™ patented technology uses on average two tons per day of pulp, generating a product that is recyclable, biodegradable and made from renewable resources," said Mr. Birmingham. "In Brazil alone, 500 pakit100™ machines could convert 350,000 tons of pulp into consumer-based, environmentally-sustainable products per year."

Mr. Birmingham believes that Pakit's technology will emerge as "the leading solution for pulp producers and converters" due to its superior performance in each of the following areas:

  • Energy Efficiency – Pakit's solution consumes approximately one third of the energy of conventional technology.
  • Reduced Water Consumption – Conventional moulded pulp technology wastes significant volumes of water, whereas Pakit's technology has relative minimal water usage due to its closed-loop system.
  • Diverse Feedstock – Locally-sourced agricultural waste can be used as well as virgin materials.
