Palm Beach, FL Resort Chefs Head to South Beach Wine & Food Festival

3800 Ocean's Collaboration of Chefs Represent the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa

SINGER ISLAND, FL--(Marketwire - Feb 15, 2013) - Florida is hot year-round, but things really heat up in February, when Food Network hosts its annual South Beach Wine & Food Festival. This year, 3800 Ocean's Collaboration of Chefs, led by Larry LaValley, are throwing their irons in the fire by representing the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa.

One of the biggest events in food and wine, this year's festival takes over South Beach from February 21st through the 24th. The star-studded event draws some of the world's top culinary talent to its tables, and on February 23rd, chef LaValley and his team of chefs of this Palm Beach, FL hotel will join Iron Chef America winner Geoffrey Zakarian for Thrillist's "BBQ & The Blues." Combining BBQ-inspired dishes and delicious cocktails with live music, the event is one of the not-to-be-missed items on the festival's menu.

Located at the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa, 3800 Ocean's culinary team brings modern American-style menu items to the shores of Palm Beach with its new collaborative kitchen concept. Under the direction of Larry LaValley, assistant general manager -- and former executive chef under acclaimed celebrity chef Mark Militello -- 3800 Ocean offers a unique approach to dining at this Palm Beach, FL resort, with a collective menu that is produced by the entire culinary staff, highlighting chef specialties and culture.

3800 Ocean's culinary team features the talents and cultural influence of Chef Adam Hervieux of Massachusetts, Chef Frances Deskin of Florida, Chef Ernesto Sierra of Mexico, Chef Alistair Housen of Jamaica and Chef Deana Lezcano of Arizona.

The kitchen at 3800 Ocean is inspired by sustainable practices and sources local ingredients where possible. Highlighted signature dishes are created with fresh-from-the-ocean seafood including scallops harvested by personalized scallop divers, ingredients from Swank Specialty Produce's hydroponic farm and poultry from Murray's family-farmed and naturally raised chickens.

The stage at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival will be set for the 12th year in a row, bringing together top wine and spirits producers with chefs and culinary personalities for four days of fundraising to benefit the Florida International University. Last year more than 60,000 guests attended the festival, and this year's calendar is sure to attract many more. Attend seminars on everything from mac n' cheese to oysters, sit in on a movie screening hosted by Anthony Bourdain, spend an evening sampling gourmet chocolates from GODVIA® and rub elbows with big names including Michelle Bernstein, Bobby Flay, Nobu Matsuhisa and Rachael Ray.
