PALMco Partners With AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts to Sponsor 30th Annual AIDS Walk & 5K Run Boston

PALMco Cares' $5,000 Donation to Match Registration Fee From 5K Runners, Doubling Their Impact

BROOKLYN, NY--(Marketwired - Jun 2, 2015) - Today, PALMco, a family owned and operated energy supply company, announced a new partnership with the AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts, New England's largest AIDS service organization and a leader in the fight against AIDS/HIV. PALMco has contributed $5,000 as the exclusive sponsor of the 30th Annual AIDS Walk & 5K Run Boston event's 5K Run, matching the donated entry fee from runners who register before June 6th and doubling each new participant's impact.

"PALMco is a community focused family business, and we are honored to be part of this annual Boston tradition and support an organization that has done so much for New Englanders living with HIV and AIDS," said Robert Palmese, President of PALMco. "The service that AIDS Action provides allows people affected with HIV and AIDS to remain as part of the community and receive the support and care they need. We wish all of the 5K runners good luck and hope to celebrate with them at the finish line."

"This event has been successful for the past 30 years because it's a grassroots event that draws both community participation and critical support from business. Our valued partnerships with community oriented companies like PALMco help to stretch the value of each dollar donated, and are integral to our mission of raising awareness and providing essential services for those affected by HIV and AIDS," said Carl Sciortino, Executive Director of AIDS Action.

The June 7, 2015 AIDS Walk Boston & 5K Run marks the 30th anniversary of this now landmark Boston event. The event continues to be New England's largest HIV/AIDS event to attract thousands of participants who walk for different reasons, but walk together for one common cause: to support AIDS Action and its work to prevent new infections, maximize the health outcomes of those infected, and to end the epidemic here in Massachusetts.

This new partnership is part of "PALMco Cares," a larger effort to give back to the communities in which PALMco operates. Launched in December 2013, PALMco Cares' inaugural campaign donates $1 per month for each participating gas and/or electric account to the American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO). In January 2014, PALMco announced that it had surpassed the initial goal of $10,000 but is continuing to offer the opportunity for customers to opt into donating to ACCO.
