Palmex International Receives Support from Government of Canada to Implement International Commercialization Strategy

SAINT-SAUVEUR, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 7, 2012) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that Palmex International Inc. has been awarded financial assistance to promote its products abroad.

"The Government of Canada is committed to supporting enterprises that, like Palmex, pursue opportunity in the global marketplace thanks to their innovative products, while fostering economic growth and job creation at home," said Minister Lebel.

Palmex International develops and commercializes roofing material of synthetic palm leaves. An alternative to natural palm leaves, this plastic resin product is intended for hotels and resorts in tropical countries. The firm, currently benefiting from the global increase in tourism, will use the funding awarded by the Government of Canada to strengthen its presence on foreign markets and grow its business. Palmex will roll out its commercialization strategy to establish a strong distribution and sales network, thereby gaining the latitude needed to better position its products, become more competitive vis-à-vis its foreign competitors and diversify its markets.

Information: This $120,000 in repayable financial assistance has been awarded under Canada Economic Development's Business and Regional Growth program.
