Palomar Technologies CEO Bruce W. Hueners Named New Chair of World Trade Center San Diego

CARLSBAD, CA--(Marketwire - December 15, 2010) - Palomar Technologies and WORLD TRADE CENTER San Diego (WTCSD) announced today that Palomar CEO, Bruce W. Hueners, has been named WORLD TRADE CENTER San Diego's Chair of the Board. Mr. Hueners has served on the WTCSD's Board of Directors for the last five years. Prior to being named Chair, he served as Vice Chair for two years.

WTCSD was established in 1994 to serve the growing needs of the San Diego region's business. WTCSD is a non-profit trade association licensed by the World Trade Centers Association in New York, WTCA. The WTCSD is a private-public partnership with the City of San Diego, the San Diego Unified Port District and the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. Membership includes a broad range of companies and organizations involved in world trade.

In an effort to further the San Diego region's position as a center for international business trade, the WTCSD created its International Relations Office. Its purpose is to coordinate the international protocol needs of the San Diego region and offer a comprehensive approach to hosting international delegations and dignitaries by leveraging collective resources and creating a world-class experience for international guests.

In response to the projected continued dynamic growth in Asia, WTCSD created the "Asia Desk" in 2002, as California's only WTC Asia-dedicated resource. The Asia Desk provides a wide range of trade services that include: market research and referrals, hosting of inbound business and trade delegations from Asia, organizing outbound trade missions, information seminars and panels, training programs and networking events.

The WTCSD Member organizations include Callaway Golf, FedEx, Goodrich Aerostructures, PULSE, Qualcomm, Quantum Design, San Diego State University CIBER, Sheppard Mullin, Solar Turbines, Sony Electronics, USD Ahlers Center for International Business, the School of International Relations and Pacific Studies at UCSD, Wells Fargo International Banking, and WD-40.
