PAML Selects 4medica to Automate Lab Order and Data Exchange Among Laboratories, Hospitals and Physicians

CULVER CITY, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 28, 2011) - 4medica, provider of the industry's leading cloud software-as-a-service (SaaS) clinical integration platform, announced today that PAML has selected its web-based solution to enable laboratories and physician practices to automate clinical-pathology laboratory ordering processes and exchange results and patient demographic data seamlessly. Spokane, Wash.-based PAML is a medical reference laboratory serving physicians, hospitals, members of the community, employers, and other allied health professionals across the country.

"We chose 4medica because the company has a strong customer focus and its solution is cloud-based, easy to use, flexible, scalable and cost effective," said Dr. Tom Tiffany, PhD., PAML's CEO and president. "4medica's technology is expected to work seamlessly and efficiently with our lab information system (LIS). We expect that the well-architected order entry and order management capabilities of 4medica will help tremendously with workflow efficiency, the completeness and thoroughness of order information captured and productivity."

4medica's technology also positions PAML to address the meaningful use and accountable care challenges the industry is currently facing. "As providers increasingly automate and prepare to transition to an accountable care model, they will have to integrate data, workflow and processes to ensure clinical integration and clinician coordination across the continuum of care to avoid duplicate tests, procedures and unnecessary costs," Dr. Tiffany said. "4medica's technology underscores our strong commitment to helping customers meet those strategic needs and build an electronic healthcare ecosystem."

"We are pleased that one of the country's top reference laboratories is partnering with us to provide patient-centric care and we look forward to assisting them in successfully navigating the rapidly changing healthcare environment,'" said Oleg Bess, M.D., 4medica's CEO and Chairman.
