Panama's Energy Firms Plan 720 Megawatts of Hydroelectric Power, an Industrial Info News Alert

CORDOBA, ARGENTINA--(Marketwire - Apr 23, 2012) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources Latin America (Cordoba, Argentina) -- Panama plans to increase installed capacity of hydroelectric power generation by 720 megawatts (MW) with 30 new hydropower plants. Seventeen of these projects are in a preliminary phase and seven are in an engineering phase, for a total investment of approximately $200 million. The remainder of the projects are under construction for a total investment of about $583 million. According to the program, these power stations are planned to be completed by 2016.
