Aviation Industry Leaders to Toast Panasonic's New Regional Headquarters at Private Celebration Wednesday Evening

HONG KONG--(Marketwire - September 8, 2009) - Announced today at Aircraft Interiors Expo / Asian Aerospace in Hong Kong, China, Panasonic Avionics Corporation (Panasonic) has opened its China Region headquarters in Hong Kong and has set in place the infrastructure to support the rapidly expanding in-flight entertainment and communications (IFEC) market in China.

Widely acknowledged as the industry leader in next-generation IFEC platforms that maximize airline operational efficiency and enhance the passenger experience, Panasonic is sending a clear message to customers in one of the fastest growing aviation markets in the world.

"Like elsewhere in the world, ancillary revenue strategies are being evaluated by airlines across China," said Charles Ogilvie, Executive Director of China for Panasonic Avionics Corporation. "This market is changing so quickly that all companies who help airlines deliver passenger experience must design their structure and products to be both flexible and dependable, which is something we've done in the establishment of this new region for Panasonic Avionics."

"Panasonic is thrilled to announce our commitment to China," said Paul Margis, Chief Executive Officer for Panasonic Avionics Corporation. "We began with an integration center in Shanghai and staff in Beijing and Guangzhou to support our operations. Now we have added a Regional Headquarters in Hong Kong to strengthen our core efforts across China."

"Panasonic is committed to the highest quality and delivering excellence to our customers worldwide," said Yasu Enokido, President of Panasonic Avionics Corporation. "We now further enhance that commitment to China."

Key aviation industry leaders, including Steve Ridgway, Chief Executive of Virgin Atlantic and other Asian Aerospace executives, will attend a private Panasonic-hosted function Wednesday evening in Hong Kong to celebrate the launch of Panasonic's China region and opening of its new regional headquarters in Hong Kong.
