Panasonic Introduces the Next Generation of Network Cameras for Businesses

New Indoor and Outdoor Models Boast Remote Monitoring and Control via a PC or Cell Phone, Enhanced Performance for Increased Profitability and Peace of Mind

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - September 10, 2009) - Panasonic today introduced four IP based network cameras that offer enhanced efficiency and performance while enabling business owners to monitor company premises from a PC or cell phone.* The cameras boast Panasonic's UniPhier® advanced video processing chipset for crisp, natural colors and more efficient video streaming. The new network cameras also feature H.264 video compression, which enables the reduction of data volume by more than 30% compared to MPEG-4. Less bandwidth is used, resulting in quicker transfer of images without compromising picture quality.

Other highlights of the new models include a slim, discreet design, improved image quality and zoom performance, recording software that supports up to 16 cameras and Light Pixel Sensing -- a high-sensitivity mode that produces brighter images in low-light settings. The vandalism-resistant cameras boast an advanced Multi Sensor which detects motion, sound and shock and triggers an alert, sends an e-mail or snaps and saves an image to the built-in memory or an optional up to 32GB SD card. Users can even pan and tilt the camera angles remotely, providing the ultimate Zero Distance Management tool.

"Our new cameras are ideal for business owners who want peace of mind when they are away from the premises, whether it's a retail store, restaurant, warehouse/factory or construction site, to name just a few of the possibilities," said Bill Taylor, President of Panasonic Communications Company of North America. "Having cameras that can be monitored from a cell phone or remote PC helps deter theft and vandalism as well as improve employee performance and customer service."

Panasonic's new BB-HCM735 splash-resistant outdoor camera is joined by three new indoor models: the BB-HCM701, BB-HCM705 and BB-HCM715. Maximum resolution is SXVGA (1280 x 960) except for the HCM701, which is VGA (640 x 480).

Other key features include:

-- Low-distortion wide-angle (69°/51° except for HCM701, which is
    66°/50°)
-- Built-in microphone
-- SDHC memory-card slot for up to 32-GB of portable storage
-- Will be compatible with Panasonic's i-Pro WJ-ND200 network video
    recording system
-- SSL support for secure Internet communication
-- Power over Ethernet (PoE) -- Power is supplied through the Ethernet
cable, eliminating the need for a dedicated electrical line
-- All of the models are wall or ceiling mountable

Models HCM701 and HCM705 feature a compact dome and tough polycarbonate body while the HCM715 and HCM735 offer 10 preset camera positions and an audio input/output for two-way communication.

The models will be on display at CEDIA in Panasonic booth #2836 and will be available for purchase from Panasonic authorized dealers starting in October 2009.

Panasonic also offers a wide range of professional analog and i-Pro IP video surveillance system products, including pan-tilt-zoom, fixed dome, fixed color, and vandal-resistant cameras; recording solutions; matrix and control systems, and purpose-built LCD displays and monitors.
