Panasonic SIP Business Phone Named Best-of-Show at ITEXPO West 2011

New SIP UT Series Gains Recognition in Best of Open Source Category

SECAUCUS, NJ--(Marketwire - Sep 27, 2011) - Panasonic System Networks Company of America, recognized as the number one choice for small business phone systems*, today announced that Panasonic's SIP UT Series was named Best-of-Show in the Open Source Category at ITEXPO West 2011.

Editorial staff at TMC awarded "Best-of-Show" to Panasonic after careful product evaluation last week during the annual ITEXPO West, held at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, TX. The ITEXPO West 2011 "Best of Show" awards recognize innovative products and solutions that were exhibited during the event. This top honor serves to highlight outstanding products based on creative and technological innovations and how a product can contribute to the development of future communications products and services.

"Our event last week in Austin raised the bar in every conceivable way -- from conference content, to attendee count, and for the quality and breadth of the products and solutions showcased on the Exhibit Hall floor," said Rich Tehrani, TMC CEO and Conference Chairman. "We're pleased to honor Panasonic with a 'best-of-show' award, and we congratulate them for standing out amongst a large and highly competitive field."

"As a leader in business telephone systems, we are thankful to be honored with a Best of Show award from ITEXPO West. This award, backed by the editorial staff at TMC, truly validates our new UT series phones for the open source category," said Bill Taylor, President, Panasonic System Networks Company of America. "Our business customers are constantly looking for communication solutions that are reliable, flexible and affordable. Panasonic listens to our customers' desires and we make it a goal to provide them with the best telephony solutions available to fit their business needs."

Panasonic's new KX-UT series offers a cost-effective communications solution for small and mid-size businesses that leverages the latest developments in Hosted and Open Source PBX technologies and is designed to complement a company's existing communication infrastructure, yielding a low total cost of ownership. Select models feature two data ports so users can connect a second network device without the time and expense of running an additional Ethernet cable. All KX-UT series models are Power over Ethernet (PoE) ready which eliminates the need for additional electrical adaptors. Wide-band, high-definition audio (G. 722 codec) coupled with echo cancellation and an expanded acoustic chamber allows the KX-UT series to offer crisp sound quality for crystal clear conversation.
