Panasonic's 103-Inch Plasma Continues to Make Its Mark as the Display of Choice for Commercial Installations

More Than 3,000 Installations Worldwide Since December 2006 Debut

SECAUCUS, NJ--(Marketwire - June 25, 2008) - With more than 3,000 installations worldwide, Panasonic's 103-inch Plasma HDTV -- the world's largest Plasma available -- has become the industry's leading high-impact, large-format display for a wide range of commercial applications. From digital signage and entertainment, to high-end home theater, sports playback, command and control, and higher education, the Panasonic 103-inch Plasma has garnered widespread acclaim for its size and picture quality.

Enhancing Entertainment in Casinos & Clubs

The Panasonic 103-inch Plasma has been especially popular with high-profile casinos and nightclubs. Most recently, Las Vegas' Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall installed fifteen 103-inch plasmas in its newly remodeled $20-million Race and Sports Book room.

"The 'wow factor' is a very important part of our business," said Patrick Fitzgerald, director of marketing for Sam's Town. "Having the 103-inch Plasmas in our facility brings people to the property to view sports the way they were intended to be viewed -- on really large-screen TVs." Currently, Sam's Town is the world's single largest installation of 103-inch plasmas.

Management at Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, Calif. installed five 103-inch Plasmas in the resort's popular poker room to display high-impact sports programming and other entertainment shows to the room's patrons.

"Because Pechanga has one of the biggest poker rooms in Southern California, the Panasonic [103-inch] displays provide our customers with an entertainment value unequaled anywhere in the industry," said Rod Luck, Pechanga's vice president of information technology.

Jay-Z's popular 40/40 Club in the new Palazzo Hotel in Las Vegas showcases two 103-inch displays -- one in the luxurious, private A-Rod Lounge, with the other installed on a large wall near the main bar. The Plasmas are primarily used to play sports content for the club's patrons.

A Commanding Presence in Sports Playback

The 103-inch Plasma's ability to reproduce motion images with the high resolution needed for high-definition sports playback has made it the display of choice for commercial sports applications.

"These amazing 103-inch hi-def screens will add a fabulous visual element to the game action and storyline breakdowns that we'll be bringing to our viewers each week," said David Neal, executive producer for both NBC Sports and the network's "Football Night in America" program. NBC has two 103-inch plasmas on set.

In addition, Miami's Dolphin Stadium installed eight of the 103-inch Plasmas to its exclusive Club Level. "With the Panasonic 103" 1080p Plasmas, we knew we would be able to provide our fans with a deluxe viewing experience. Our Club Level guests are enjoying crisp, beautiful high-definition images, plus we're able to show up to nine different games on just one 103" panel," said Chad Messina, director of operations.

Making An Impact In The Board Room

Clubs and casinos aren't the only commercial establishments where management has recognized the potential of the 103-inch Plasma to engage viewers. The display is also finding its way into board and conference rooms for presentations and videoconferencing applications.

Apple purchased multiple 103-inch displays for the conference rooms in its Cupertino, Calif., offices. Also, The Friedmutter Group, an international architecture and design firm based in Las Vegas, installed a 103-inch Plasma in each of the main conference rooms of its Las Vegas and New York offices. The 103-inch Plasma display is an integral part of the company's sophisticated videoconferencing setup, allowing associates to hold streamlined video conferences between offices, including international locations in Macau and Dubai.

"We're in the casino and entertainment business," says CEO Brad Friedmutter, "and, for this reason, a big part of what we do must incorporate the 'wow' factor. We purchased the 103-inch Plasma for our offices to create a high-impact way to present new projects to clients and potential clients. Having a screen as large as the 103-inch Plasma helps reinforce the technological advantage we bring as consultants and supports the knowledge we have in this area."

Top Of The Class In Higher Education

Creating impactful presentations is an essential part of fundraising and entertaining in the world of higher education. Recognizing this, officials at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, installed a 103-inch Plasma in the university's Presidential Conference Room.

"The Panasonic 103-inch Plasma gives us the ability to display a range of content types, from PowerPoint™ slides to full-motion video, while adding a sense of style and luxury to the room in a complementary fashion," said Andy Montesano, associate director for technical operations for the college.

And the list of prestigious 103-inch applications goes on: Command and control (New York's City Hall); digital signage (Simon Malls and OnSpot Digital Network); entertainment (Hyatt Chicago's BIG Bar); museums (U.S. Patent and Trademark Office); retail (Armani's New York showroom); and high-end home theater.
