Travel CUTS introduces three new 'voluntourism' itineraries allowing travellers to give back while on holiday in Asia

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 16, 2007) - Travel CUTS and its adventure division The Adventure Travel Company (ATC) announced today the introduction of three new itineraries designed for travellers looking to give back while on holiday in Asia.

The three 'voluntourism' itineraries include caring for elephants at the Elephant Nature Park near Chiang Mai, Thailand, helping the locals and learning the culture in the small Thai fishing village of Phang Nga Bay and visiting the Woolong Giant Panda Conservation Centre in China where participants assist local staff cleaning out pens, feeding and collecting bamboo for 65 giant pandas.

"We have included these three wonderful 'voluntourism' itineraries for those people who not only want to explore Asia for all its sights, sounds and splendours, but also want to make a difference while vacationing, which is becoming increasingly popular," says Kimberly Morton, Online Sales and Marketing Manager, Travel CUTS.

The three 'voluntourism' itineraries are part of Travel CUTS and ATC's "Asia from A to Z" campaign which includes 26 destinations across Asia representing each letter of the alphabet. For each destination, Travel CUTS and ATC recommend itineraries that explore the most fascinating and exotic attractions.

"Asia from A to Z" includes itineraries in Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, Laos, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Borneo and incorporates letters in the alphabet such as F for the Forbidden City, G for the Golden Triangle and O for the Orangutan Sanctuary in Borneo.

As part of the campaign, travellers can choose from more than 650 tours to customize their own Asian experience, or go with one or a combination of any of the 26 recommended Asian itineraries. Travel CUTS & ATC offer the "Amazing Asia from A to Z" itinerary which includes a 24 day stay in six countries, costing only $2,488 CAD departing Vancouver including airfare with visits to such places as the Terrace of the Leper King in Cambodia and the Khao Sok National Park in Thailand. The itineraries can be purchased from Travel CUTS and ATC as of August 20, 2007.
