Paparazzi Hack Britney Spears and Paris Hilton Voicemail Using SPOOFEM.COM

LIGATT Security Issues Public Apology to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - March 18, 2008) - LIGATT Security, the provider of SPOOFEM.COM, issues a public apology to Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and their families, attorneys and friends whose private messages may have been compromised by a malicious paparazzi.

"On March 17, 2008, we received several phone calls at our office from members of both camps stating that paparazzi was using SPOOFEM.COM to check voicemails of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton," says Gregory Evans, Director of LIGATT Security.

SPOOFEM.COM allows you to call any number and have any number show up in a person's caller ID. If a person calls a cell phone number and puts the cell phone number as the caller ID, the cell phone company thinks you are calling from your cell phone and puts you directly into voicemail if you do not have a pass code set to enter when you call from your cell phone. The paparazzi was able to check their voicemail by exploiting this glitch.

"We have tried to alert the world about this glitch and how they can protect themselves. There are other services like SPOOFEM.COM, who market to stalkers, cyber bullies and paparazzi. We have gone as far as to setup a free service called SPOOFEABUSE.COM, which allows you to have your number blocked on our network as well as any affiliate network, so no one can spoof you when they call," says Evans.

SPOOFEM.COM allows you to change your caller ID information, change your voice to a male or female, record a phone call and even SPOOF text messages.
