Pari Mutuel Urbain Bets on TIBCO Integration and Messaging Software for Real-Time Information Exchange

Successful Technology Implementation Delivers Up-to-the-Minute Access to Race Conditions, Track Courses and Runner Information for Improved Marketing and Customer Services

PARIS--(Marketwire - August 10, 2009) - TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ: TIBX) today announced that Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU), responsible for designing, processing, promoting and marketing off-track racehorse betting operations, has successfully deployed TIBCO's integration and messaging software to scale and manage event-driven distribution of information across its multiple sales points (or betting shops) as part of its exchange platform project.

Leveraging TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks™, TIBCO Enterprise Message Service™ and TIBCO Substation ES™, PMU's new exchange platform ensures the consistent, reliable, seamless delivery of information on race conditions, track courses, runners and non-runners between the PMU website, Equidia television, the racetracks, and its business-to-business partners. This updated environment will integrate TIBCO technology with PMU's existing central information system that is based on IBM mainframes, and third party "user" applications and partner systems. Additionally, the new exchange platform replaces legacy heterogeneous communication mechanisms for operations in real-time.

Christophe Leray, PMU's Chief Information Officer, said: "Access to real-time information considerably improves the quality of services offered to our customer base. Deploying TIBCO's software has optimized our technology environment, while improving and reducing overall IT maintenance costs."

The decision to implement TIBCO software was made after an intense review and proof of concept proposal involving multiple software vendors. At the end of the selection process, PMU concluded that TIBCO offered the most comprehensive software solutions that met all of its technology requirements.

"TIBCO successfully delivered on the bet made by PMU, implementing on schedule in partnership with Capgemini," said Fabio Pulidori, senior vice president, EMEA Field Operations, TIBCO. "Beginning Summer 2008, PMU has benefitted from an open, scalable enterprise architecture that provides a standardized interface and reliable information exchange."
