Paris Plays Host to the Glamourous Sarenza High Heels Race Grand Final

PARIS, FRANCE--(Marketwire - Jan. 7, 2011) - The winners of the long awaited Sarenza High Heels Race were announced recently in a glittering English versus French themed event held in Paris.

The winning French team, named 'Good Ass' took home an amazing prize of £2500 worth of shoes of their choice from Sarenza, while the 'Clockworked Orange' and 'Mental Madams' British teams came in at second and third place with impressive performances.

The event took place on December 3rd when 16 UK teams and 16 French teams came together at the cool piscine Molitor venue; a disused swimming pool covered in graffiti, which was decorated with pink lights. Meanwhile, the contestants all dressed up in various costumes encapsulating the English Eccentric v French chic theme.

Around 500 people assembled to watch the race, which is now famous around the world and attracts much attention as the only race in which the competitors take part wearing High Heels.

A spokesperson for the leading online shoe shop, Sarenza, commented: 'The Sarenza high heels race is hugely popular and this year's British and French themed rivalry to celebrate the success of our UK website has spiced it up even more! Despite bad weather, the British teams made it over to Paris and a good time was had by all, with champagne flowing and fantastic costumes all around'.

After the race, the cross-channel rivalry was put aside for some fun and celebrations with the help of the fantastic crowds, TV personality Zara Martin and the beauty of the chic sixteenth arrondissement of Paris location.

The lucky winners received their prize just at the right time with the Women's Shoe Sale taking place right now and lots of bargains on some of the most stunning and unusual shoes in Europe. Visit to see some gorgeous designs for yourself and find shoe brands you won't see anywhere else!
