Paris Saint-Germain F.C. Soccer Team Scores Big With a Stay at Princeton NJ Hotel

(French Ligue 1) soccer team was in town last month to play Chelsea at the first soccer game to be held at the new Yankee Stadium (they tied), the team wanted a quiet place to stay and practice nearby. As a result, Carlos Ancelotti (pictured at right with David Sharkey, General Manager of the hotel) brought them to the Princeton Marriott at Forrestal.

According to Mr. Sharkey, the team spent about nine days at this hotel near Princeton University and practiced on the soccer fields at Princeton University. The hotel's secluded location and operational setup was absolutely perfect for Paris Saint-Germain F.C. as it was transformed to accommodate the team's needs. 

The Plainsboro, NJ hotel used one of its existing restaurant spaces and transformed it into an all-encompassing space for the team. The players had their own lounge with Ping Pong, Foosball, video game stations, and HD TVs where they could relax and be away from the public eye. An additional area of the space was reworked into a meeting room set-up so the group could hold team meetings with a large screen projection for their game analysis.

The final piece of the puzzle was feeding the team each day for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the same space. The F&B team at the hotel arranged for all of the meals to be served in the same space each day. Working with the Nutritional Sports Science coach for the team and their own private French Chef, meals were constructed to offer both the highest nutritional value and French style presentation. Each meal had very specific guidelines for the player's caloric intake. The team was impressed at every turn with the hotel's ability to accommodate their requests on short notice. Paris Saint-Germain F.C. appreciated the friendly service and relaxing atmosphere that allowed them to enjoy their time in Princeton out of the media spotlight.
