Parks Associates Speaking at Key IoT Events This Week: Bluetooth World, Wearable Technology Show, Autonomous Car Detroit, SXSW

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwired - Mar 15, 2016) - Parks Associates announced this week members of its analyst team are speaking at key events around the world focused on the growth of the consumer-based IoT market and the impact of connectivity on residential products and services. The firm reports strong consumer interest and purchase intentions for connected products but ongoing concerns about the privacy and security of their household data.

"We are excited to participate in important industry events that highlight the core issues of mobile connectivity, wearables, connected cars, and digital media," said Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates. "The convergence of ecosystems in the connected home creates multiple crossover use cases for all companies active in consumer technology and also creates a premium for market intelligence to ensure each player approaches consumers with the correct business strategy. These events offer excellent opportunities for Parks Associates to share our consumer research and vision for the IoT."

Parks Associates research shows 19% of U.S. broadband households currently own a smart home product and over two-thirds own an Internet-connected entertainment device. Over three-fourths of households in total are very concerned about data security and personal privacy when using connected devices, with the top concerns including viruses, spyware, and identity theft.
