Parks Canada: Media Advisory

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 15, 2005) - The Honourable Lucienne Robillard, President of the Queen's Privy Council and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, on behalf of the Honourable Stephane Dion, Minister of the Environment and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, and the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada invite you to a plaque unveiling ceremony commemorating the national historic significance of Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal.

Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal is a place of pilgrimage established by Brother Andre and dedicated to Saint Joseph. From its humble beginnings as a small chapel where one could pray to Saint Joseph, it rapidly expanded to become the oratory that we know today. With its distinctive architecture, the Oratory constitutes an imposing presence, both physically and symbolically.
